Good Things Celebration

Welcome to the 31 Days Of Good Things Celebration!

Happy February 1st Ya'll. Two weeks ago we had a really nice day outside so Mr. Fruity, our Satsuma Orange Tree got to spend the day in the sunshine. Would you believe that night when we tucked him in for bed he had 9 buds?

We've never seen him get buds and after one day of being in the sunshine he was fed and beginning to blossom.

We are rounding the finish line for the last few weeks of cold, wintry, bleak weather. In four short weeks we will be ushering in March and with it more budding flowers, trees, Spring Breaks, thoughts of trips to the beach, Daffodil fields, Easter and all the new life Spring represents.

So, here at Bugs & Sunshine we are going to be having a Good Things Celebration these final weeks of winter. We are going to be whipping our houses into shape. We're all going on a vacation together. We're planning special things for ourselves. It is going to be four weeks of F.U.N so get ready to have some new life bud and blossom in your corner of the world. So all aboard, here we go with our first Good Thing...

Your Decorating Style. Click Here to take a quiz that will help you begin to define what your personal style is. I am NANTUCKET STYLE. It makes me smile just typing it. Bugs loves all things beachy and bright. When you take the quiz jump back over and leave us a comment telling us what you are.

And since your true inspiration is the sea, the colors and textures in your home are the same that you would find at your favorite beach: white, light beiges and grays of the sand and driftwood, a variety of blues for the ocean and sky, and greens and vibrant blues of the sea glass... but the key is white! Your space should feel light and airy and give off the mood one has when at the beach: laid back!

I also have some strong Traditional Country...

Even if your backyard isn't acres of farmland and you don't actually have a chicken coop, your house sure brings you back to a time when that was the case. You love spaces that feel casual and lived in. Furniture is practical and comfortable, and yet at the same time its very stylish. The best part of country style is how much it highlights collection and found objects. Antiques here, garage sale finds there and Aunt Milly's hand-me-downs throughout. Unique items that used to serve very practical purposes are now on display, and their history seems to permeate the home. Each space in the home seems to invite friends and family to come in and stay a while. There is a true sense of home felt throughout

Mountain Lodge Style was my strongest - then Arts and Crafts. Mmm that top one was pretty much what I expected, and as I sit here typing this I am wearing a plaid flannel shirt. Perfect.

fun quiz, thanks! the first time i took the quiz it said, "that's odd. we couldn't determine your style." haha. so true, so true. the 2nd time it said i was 50% classical and 50% traditional country. living overseas it's a little tricky to decorate exactly how i would like, but the descriptions were fairly accurate to what i would like to do.

Mine was Modern Elegance. But I figured that. Dave and I like straight lines, symmetry, and color--a bold use of it!

I am so excited to read 31 days of your posts!!! My style is 100% Traditional Country. I agree b/c I love plaid, stripes and florals all together! Don't do the antique thing though! Thanks for always having something neat! I love it!

HA! Mine said: "Hmm, that's odd

We couldn't identify your style based on the quiz results. Would you mind taking it again? Sorry, but we just want to be sure..."

Well there's just no way I'm going through it again. I'm surprised it didn't just say, "Unhappy Hipster" because I mainly went through it clicking "Dislike It", "Hate It", "Gag", "Barf." What I REALLY think it means is that I'm eclectic. I just grab a bunch of stuff I like and throw it together. Yeah, that's it! :)

Thanks so much for the link to the quiz! I'm 50% Arts & Crafts (sounds worse than it is) and 50% Wine Country.
I liked this quiz so much, I linked to it on my website. Thanks for sharing!

I'm so excited for the month of the Bug's life!!

I'm
50% Cottage Chic with 25% Traditional Country and 25% Rustic Revival.

So... a Rustic Country Cottage for me! Right next to Becke's!

So fun!
I was Nantucket Style, Cottage Chic, & Traditional Country! That is exactly what I am going for (although I don't think I would have been able to put it in such 'hip' and 'attractive' sounding words! :) Such a fun idea...thanks for posting!
Looking forward to the next month!

I can never seem to get away from a classic style. I like warm colors with a bit of elegance. Really looking forward to your upcoming post, now to grab that bucket of sudsy water!
