Pure Grace, #2, and Gee-Hada

Pure Grace:
This is the name of my new FAVORITE lotion and perfume. By Philosophy. Clean like soap and water. After searching for a new fragrance for nearly two years, I am very happy about my new find.

#2:
How do you get a two year old to not go number two in their underwear?

Gee-Hada:
The jam is really good. Shane compared me to Betty Crocker, the Barefoot Contessa and Gee-Hada (Giada). Speaking of Geehada, my brother in law always jokes how the guys at work love to watch her cooking show. One of their wives said, "I sure haven't seen you tryin' any of her recipes!" Funny.

What are we up to?!

I made Strawberry Freezer Jam yesterday. It is still setting up and will be ready for the Grand's bisquits and sweet butter tommorow at brecky! I bought a new bottle of Hazelnut creamer for the coffee and the boys have OJ. Exciting times :).

LD is getting big. Last night (in the middle of the night) I just watched him sleeping and thought about how much I love him and how sweet and cute and fun he is. We are all goo-goo over him around here. I probably should have been getting some sleep, but it was fun to just watch him sleep. We are loving every single second with the little guy. He makes the cutest noises and faces. Even when he cries I think it sounds cute. I am so thankful for him and that he is healthy.

It has been sweet to see Stinky Pete's servant heart with LD. He is a great helper. Always wanting to help.

It is cloudy here today and all three boys are sleeping, so I am heading that way too.

Sonic has ninety nine cent shakes right now which is a blessing since I've been craving chocolate malts like crazy.

ZZZzzzzzzz.....

How could I forget my boy's name? Crow? Cook? Tomato? Tuhmato? At 4 am this morning I thought, hmmm, did I call my boyfriend, uh-hmmm, I mean the newest American Idol by the wrong name on my blog? I think it is the lack of sleep.

LD was up many times last night. Every 1 and a half to 3 hours. Nice. I wasn't naive enough to think we had turned a corner the night before with the 5 hour stretch. My main excitement was that lots of people I know have good sleepers, we never have, and it was fun even if for only a night to experience what that might be like. Even when I am up a lot with LD it is not that bad. I get excited to see his sweet little face.

My biggest goal during these sleepy days is to keep patient with SP and Moose during the day. I messed up 2 days ago and yelled at them which I absolutely hate to do. With a passion I hate it. I made their two little beds and felt so good to have accomplished something. After LD ate, I went to the back of the house and the comforter and sheets were on the floor and I was mift. Yes. Mift.

Looking back it is a little bit funny. I made them sit on the floor and told them no talking while I remade their beds. Then I had them each get 2 books and sit quietly on their beds to read for 10 minutes. During quiet time/book time I went into the living room to read my Bible and get my heart right again. Psalm 31. It was a good one too.

Talked about my times being in God's hands. How God has set my feet in spacious places. That God has goodness stored up for those who fear him. That if we hope in the Lord we can be strong and take heart. God shows wonderful love to us.

WE ARE HAPPY!

It was a big night! Yeah for David Crow!

I bet I will want his CD and Jason Castro's.

Last night LD slept 5 hours in a row. That has NEVER, EVER happened with any of our kids until about age 1.

Gosh. My one show is over. It feels kind of like summer camp is over. Bummer.

This is the most random post, but I feel inclined to share that I bought a lemon for our sweet tea and it is very yummy.

And a bag of oranges. $7. They are really good though. Mmmm. I'll end with sharing the recipe I made for dinner from our church cookbook. It is GREAT!

Trainwreck:
1 pound ground chuck
3 cans pinto beans
16 oz tomato sauce
1 package taco seasoning

brown mean and drain. add all ingredients to crock pot and cook on low all day. serve over chips. top with cheddar cheese, lettuce, onion, tomato, salsa, jalapenos, queso, whatever you like! (the crockpot mixture gets really thick like chili and is so yummy!)

go david!!!

hi, is it just me or does david archuletta have sailboat anchors on his sports coat?

i don't care if he can sing the phone book or not, that is faux pas.

p.s. my vote is for crow! he is so slammin' good! and he could probably make the nautical jacket work. maybe. then again, maybe not.

p.s.s. idol is over and i think archuletta sang really great. i guess i really don't care who wins, they are both great!

First Day of Church

Jana! Thank you for taking our picture! Sunday was LD's first day of church. After church we went to the river and had a fish fry with our congregation. It is our big get together every year. The weather was very nice.

Last night we went to an evening garden bridal shower for our preacher's daughter. It was a very nice shower and LD and I had a great time. He slept and I had fun seeing all the really fun kitchen gadgets Candace got. She is going to love her new cookbooks, dishes and fun things! Her sister Hope and I love to talk cooking when they come to visit from Alabama!

I am washing my matress pad and sheets. Could not stand it any longer. We have watched Beauty and the Beast about twice so far today. It is my favorite because of all the singing. Tonight we get to eat pizza at a fundraiser. And the last night of AI. I'm off to put the bed back together and take a nap-hopefully :).

Good Friends!

Brittney, Becke' and I spent the day together along with our kids. The only thing that would have made the day more fun would have been to have our friend Rebecca here with us. She is in Virginia working-just finished seminary. We have 8 kids between the 3 of us, and 7 of them were at our playday and they were champs-no naps and so sweet!

Sam is SOOO laid back. He thought nothing of Moose hopping on his back to watch the movie.

Graceyn was a doll. She has the squish-ee-ist cheeks that you just want to kiss!!!
Esther, Eli, SP & Moose playing video games!
These boys love playing together. It is sweet to hear them giggle.
These 3 were born within 6 weeks of each other. Don't let Esther's big bow and big blue eyes fool you! You probably think she's holding a gun, but really it is "air freshener" that she waved around to freshen the room!
This little cutie asked her dad if he'd teach her how to go fishin' this morning!

********************************************************************************
Tonight Shane and I were so worn out. We picked up Mamaw and went to Bueno. Afterwards we came home, put some cookies in the oven and watched The Little Mermaid. It is now 9:45pm and I am heading to bed. Whoo-hoo!!!

Bueno-Heads

At LAST, the long awaited day is here!!! The GRAND OPENING!!!

Like Mother...

Like Son...
Our first "official" family outing. (where we got out of the car at least!) Friday night we did go to Sonic for malt's and slushee's, and then came home and watched The Wedding Planner. And we drove through McD's yesterday, but TODAY we got out of the car for our field trip!

Nana was in the drive-thru and she got out to come in! She fed LD his bottle- a first for her!
Moose was tired of the pictures! He is saying, "NO!!!"
We met Joe & Sarah at Bueno for lunch! This is the Caddy their church gave them. They say it is 18 feet long and only refer to it in Nautical terms, such as, "It's time to dock the boat." Funny.
LD loved his first outing!

From our Family to Yours, PEACE, LOVE & BUENO!!!

2 frustrations with blogging...

1) having to title every entry. sometimes this can give writer's block.

2) trying to decode the jargon every time i want to leave a comment. why would they put letters like ljfijkl together in a curvy font for me to decifer? my eyes are not what they used to be! this makes me think blogs are for teenagers who can still see.

Not sure what to title this one...

Shane was super sick last night and all day today. His high fever may have just broken. We thought the stomach bug had left us, but OH NO! I don't remember seeing Shane so sick :(.

I had 3 bathed babies, 5 outfits laid out for church this am (yes I lay Shane's clothes out sometimes!), breakfast planned, the whole nine yards. We were ready to go to church today, but that plan got put on the back burner. Instead...

Shane spent the day sleeping and around another kind of throne. I spent the day in my night gown with my hair in a big crazy pony tail right on top of my head, with an extra barette to deal with the bangs. Lovely. My sweet mom called and went to Wal-Mart for us. I technically can't drive yet, and I couldn't leave Shane home so sick with the kids, but we needed a few things. A few as in a lot of things.

The bathrooms are cleaned, everything has been Lysoled-again-, the house has been aired out, toothbrushes sterilized, and LOTS of prayer to the good Lord that Luke does not come down with this and that I don't get it again (Shane had a horrible round of it), and that LD stays healthy.

So, what is good about having the stomach bug and a less than 2 week old baby? Uh. Not much except for the fact that one of my biggest fears has been conquered right out of the gate and I now know we can live through the dreaded bug when it strikes. Not sure if I should thank God for helping me face my fears head on, or just keep laughing and eating Oreos.

Daddy Daycare-3 on 1

Tonight some of our sweet friends got married. Shane decided to stay with the boys so I could go to the wedding. It was a beautiful ceremony!!! Very, very sweet!! Here is a run down of how Shane's night went.

6:45pm tornado watch issued. i almost stayed home, but our resident meteorologists (my sis and chad) said it was ok to drive the 2 blocks to the church where the wedding was being held
8:42pm call to anna. no answer.
8:43pm text to page. no answer.
8:44pm text to kevin. no answer.
8:45pm dealing with the frustration of not being able to get ahold of me.
8:45pm me in the buffet line chatting it up with friends, having a grand time
9:02pm anna sees she misses shane's call. the conversation went about like this. "anna, do you want the boys bathed?" yeah. "do you want the living room/kitchen straighened before bed?" yeah. "do you still want to give ld a sponge bath?" ok babe-i'm on my way home!!

State of the Union when I got home:
-Shane was sitting in the chair holding LD with a dazed/sleepy look on his face.
-the big boys were running around nakey-ready for bathtime!
-the toilet paper was empty in my bathroom. that is because they flushed an entire roll while shane fed jack his bottle.
-crumbs in my bed because they decided to eat crackers on my clean sheets.

It is now almost midnight. I am wide awake. Shane was incredibly sweet to watch the boys tonight! He rocks! My duty by myself starts tommorow and I'm really nervous about it! Should be a good time!

Shane's words to me were, "you are just going to have to man defense with these three anna." i'm not really sure what that means.

i think the big boys really bonded over the toilet paper thing though. they were giggling and playing so good when i got home. for them no clothes and playing in the toilet was probably like an evening in heaven.

Night One Flying Solo

We just left Papa & Nana's house. We went so Shane could help Papa mow. They have stayed with us since we got home Monday night. We've had lots of family helping us over the last week-Shane's parents, my Mamaw & Aunt Linda, my sister and her husband and kids, and my parents.

We were about 8 minutes into our car ride home with just the 5 of us when Moose threw up everywhere. Poor little guy. He's said his tummy hurt all day. So, we are now home, Shane is sleeping with Moose. Car seat cover is in the wash. LD is about to eat. I just had to laugh about it all. Even in the midst of a possible stomach bug outbreak at our house, I am so thankful for our new family. LD is incredibly sweet and the boys and me love him.

It breaks my heart little Moose is sick. He's so pitiful and cuddly. I pray that he gets better soon! And that baby LD stays healthy!

CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL UPDATE: Some of ya'll asked why we had to go to Children's. LD has as spot on his lower back. The nurse noticed it Sunday and the doctor said it looked like it needed to be checked out. The doctors at Children's were called and said they needed to see him to make sure it was not connected to the bottom of his spinal cord, and to make sure he did not have spina bifida. The neonatologist (sp?) looked at it and said it looked ok and nothing to be worried about. We were very thankful it looked ok and that surgery was not necessary!

We are home!

This is Amy and me. After my appt. today we took LD to visit her! She was LD's ICU nurse and she is AMAZING! She has taken care of all 3 of our boys and helped deliver little darlin!

Happy Cinco de Mayo a day late! We came home yesterday and celebrated with the family and Nacho Salads!!! My parents are staying with us and we are having a blast! Tonight is Papa John's Pizza night-whoo hoo! And American Idol!!

After a week in the hospital, including a transport to Children's and a one-night stay we are HOME! It feels great to be here! Our family and friends have been such a BLESSING over the last week. All the prayers, meals, and taking wonderful care of our big boys. God has used them to provide abundantly for all our needs. I am so thankful for our great family and our great friends, and being able to rest in the peace that our loving God has plans and purpose for every road he lets us walk down. Little Darlin' is doing wonderful. He is super sweet and fun. He loves to be cuddled. And we love cuddling him! I am doing the best I ever have recovery wise. I feel better than I ever have. We love having 3 boys!
