Goddess Of The Laundry Room

Today we are making our laundry rooms SPARKLE. We are starting with the Laundry Room because they are going to be getting a lot of use these next 4 weeks. If you have 10 minutes you can do this.

Pour some cleaner in a bowl.

Fill it with hot water. What is it about a bowl of hot, soapy water that already has us all getting excited?
Clear off the tops of your washer and dryer.
Put all the stuff in an empty clothes basket.

Give the tops of your washer/dryer a good washing down. Open up the lid of the washer and get the inside real good. It should be smelling really good in here right about now. A clean and clutter free laundry area is going to make it much more pleasant for you.

Now you get to go browsing through your house. Look for some things you like that you can place on top of your dryer. Lamps, picture of your family, cute nic-nac you like, anything that makes you happy. Think outside of the box. I put a cute chip and dip platter on mine. It was cheerful and happy. Can you find something creative to put your soap in? Any kind of clear jar is a fun option. Check the Dollar Tree to find a good option.

Lamplight in this room will make you smile. Scout's honor.

Because I'm OCD and like to see things in all light here are 18 more copies of the same exact thing.

Enjoy your new sudsy clean wash room!

Loved this. I've been wanting to do some spring cleaning, but wasn't inspired. Thanks! Oh! and BTW I have some old picture frames that I'm not crazy about and I've been trying to figure out what to do with them. Laundry room was perfect. It's great having the smiling faces on the wall when I'm doing laundry.

Hi just found your blog from Nic's. What a great idea! My laundry room even though it's itty bitty, it's a hot mess. Thanks for the idea! I'm gonna try it today.

Love this! I think I'll go home today and clean my laundry room and spruce it up! Another cool thing is, you can put the spare change that falls out of the jeans into the jar (since I use liquid soap and that wouldn't really work in a jar LOL)!

Shannon that is a GREAT idea to have a jar for all that loose change!
