Manicure On The Go!

Here is some advice for a quick manicure. You are about 15 away from pretty hands. I got this idea from Real Simple magazine and love it.

  • trim your nails to a uniform length
  • apply a good lotion. don't stress over having the "right" kind. any thick lotion or hand cream will do.
  • apply one coat of metallic polish. revlon has 2 great options :gold go get em, and metallic copperglaze.
  • you can do this on your hands and feet.

It is amazing how a quick sweep of metallic polish makes your hands look and feel so much prettier. In only takes literally a minute to paint your nails with one coat of this shimmery polish, I know because I just did it. If you don't have metallic polish you can pick up a bottle for less than $5.

P.A.P.E.R. C.L.U.T.T.E.R.

Here's the link for my Nester Room Remodel in case you're on the tour...
********************************************************************
It is tax time again. My annual reminder that I am not organized.

We talked about order at Bible study this week. Order & Organization. Well, actually we talked about Numbers Chapter 1-10, but that is what STUCK out to me. God was so stinkin' orderly placing the 12 tribes around the arc and strategic in moving the 2 million plus people through the desert.

I want more of it in my life. I'm going to start praying for some order & diligence to file away the first time I handle a piece of paper.

GRRRrrrrrrrr.....Paper......Clutter......Makes......Me........Crazy....

Thank you and have a nice day.

You want what?

Last night my oldest looked at me and very casually said, "We need 4 kids."

I said, "WHO TOLD YOU TO SAY THAT???"

He said, "No one, but I want a sister like Bella."

I said, "Well, not right now because Mama's tired." Then we watched The Biggest Looser and ate a Popsicle.

Opportunity for YOU.

Shane and I are hiring right now with our jewelry business.

If you or someone you know are in need of some additional part-time income be it $200 a month or $1200 a month, send me an email and I can mail you some information to look over.

We have an amazing opportunity we would love to share with you. We give a $50 gift card towards free jewelry just for letting us spend 30 minutes with you sharing about our business.

We have an amazing referral program. After you understand how our business works, if you refer anyone to us and they become a jeweler, we pay you $100 CASH.

God is blessing us so much and if we can bless others during this time we want to help.

If you are even the least bit curious about what I am talking about, you owe it to yourself to let me mail you some additional information.

My business is allowing me to stay home full-time with my babies and I add an additional $1000 to our monthly income and that is working about 12-15 hours a month. (one night a week for about 3 hours). I set my own schedule. I have no monthly quotas to meet. I keep no inventory in my home. I get paid to give away free jewelry and help women look and feel their best.

If you like people, jewelry & money you need to leave me a comment and let's go to Starbuck's and chat.

Remembering Kiley

This has been a year of deep, significant loss for many of my dear friends and family. Becke' and your family, Stephanie, Michelle, my sister Joy, Casie, Mrs. Butler, Katie, Jeremy & Savannah you have been and continue to be in my prayers.

Today we are remembering Kiley.

PEACE BE WITH YOU! Ever since the resurrection, this has been My watchword to those who yearn for Me.

As you sit quietly, let My Peace settle over you and enfold you in My Loving Presence. To provide this radiant Peace for you, I died a criminal's death.

Receive My Peace abundantly and thankfully. It is a rare treasure, dazzling in delicate beauty yet strong enough to withstand all onslaughts.

Wear My Peace with regal dignity. It will keep your heart and mind close to Mine.

"Peace be with you...Peace be with you!" John 20: 19, 21

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." John 14:27

(The above devotion was taken from Jesus Calling by Sarah Young.)

I pray today we will all walk in the regal Peace He has to offer us. Lord, please help us know you more, to know the Shekinah Glory you speak of in your word. Help us trust you and believe you. We want to see you more clearly through the fog of life.

Web MD

Shane likes to call me Web MD because I should have been a doctor.

I've been very sick this week. The worst case of Strep Throat I have ever had, and I've had it a lot. Usually it's just a nuisance, but not this time. I had high fever, chills, aches, headaches, etc that started Monday night and have gone to the doctor twice.

My Shane and My Parents are the absolute best nurses ever. I love them all so stinkin' much. Thank ya'll for taking care of me and the boys.

Oh and I was so embarrased at the doctor's office. You hear stories of 3 & 4 year olds talking candidly about people and it's funny when it's your friend and not you. But, my oldest made 2 comments this morning that had me horrified. One big lady walked in the waiting room, she was tall and just a large woman. L said, "MOM, THAT LADIES KIND OF BIG ISN'T SHE?" Then he wheeled around and looked at another lady and back at me and said, "MOM, THAT LADY ONLY HAS ONE TOOTH." Then I squeezed his wrist as if to say if you want to see your next Incredible Hulk birthday party you MUST be quiet right now. He said, "OWWWW, MOM, WHY DID YOU DO THAT, THAT HURT MY WRIST REALLY BAD."

Thanks goodness we were called back shortly thereafter.

Bowling.

Today our church had a Family Bowling event.

The boys came home with a flyer a couple weeks ago. Every single morning since they got the invite they wake up and say, "Mommy I love you, you are the best mom in the whole wide world, I can't wait to eat my vegetables today and obey the first time, and is today bowling day?"

Well, since I am such a good mom I let them stay up till midnight last night.

One of my brighter decisions I've made I'd say.

Getting ready for the big event this afternoon was just precious.

All the boys were crying their little heads off, it was adorable.

We made it and it truly was great. Watching Shane teach them how to roll the ball was a memory I won't forget.

I love the fact that it took the ball about 18 minutes to roll down the alley. And the whole 18 minutes, each boy would just stand and watch with so much excitement.

When we pulled up they said, "Yea!!! Are we at the Wii Bowling Alley?!?!!"

A night in.

Tonight I made Potato Soup and it was Yum-O.

The boys are watching Madagascar.

Shane went to the Toby Mac, Hawk Nelson & Newsong concert.

I took my oldest on a date at lunchtime. We went to the pet store, Chick-fil-A, and Targe' to buy 5 toys with his $5 dollars money (as he called it).

He chose a big red glittery heart plate, Buzz Light Year socks, a Batman set of pencils, a Batman notebook and a pack of Orange gum. Sweet thing.

My purty mistreated pillows are unraveling. I love it! Neddie if you are reading this I may need to come and borrow your sewing machine.

Hope you have a restful weekend everyone.

Mistreating my pillows!

This Pottery Barn pillow was the inspiration for my recent pillow mistreatment. Betty has this pillow and I had seen it online. I already had the fabric swatches in my handy dandy Ziploc freezer bag along with paint samples. Seeing this beautiful pillow in real life sealed the deal though.
This is what I have been working on today. Recovering my pillows. Do I know how to do this? I do now. Did I load up the bus with all the boys and drag 3 bolts of fabric to the cutting table? Heck yes I did. Did I buy my fabric and trim at 40-60% off? You bet your bottom dollar I did. Are my fingers killing me now? Uh, Yes.
These are so much more cheerful than...

This...

Operation Bedroom Makeover-Complete

Nester inspired me to take control of the clutter in my bedroom. Come on in and take a look. It is bad. Really bad.

I tossed some clutter and put stuff where it belongs. Dusted, windexed, lit some candles. Rearranged some decorations, hung a picture. I put a pillow from the bed on the chair and placed a picture of my honey and me on the nightstand. I changed my pillows on the bed up a bit by reversing them. Put my pretty sheets on the bed and vacuumed. Ta-Da.....

Operation 45 minute make-over complete. Night ya'll.

Good for nothing.

I've had a serious case of the lazies lately.

My closet has exploded. Winter clothes, bits and pieces of summer clothes I need for the days like yesterday when the highs reach the upper 60's. I can't decide what needs to go. My shoes have multiplied in the floor of my closet.

The boys were "playing" last week and emptied the ENTIRE toy chest onto the top of their bed and under the foot of my bed.

The toys still remain under my bed as we speak.

They needed to see what kind of house the toy chest would make.

I want to flylady my closet.

I want to wash my blinds.

I want to wash the inside and outside of my windows.

I want to go through the babies clothes and put away the ones that are too small.

I want to dust.

I want to windex.

I want to give my kitchen chandelier a good washing down.

I want to give my kitchen table chairs a good polishing.

Instead I am napping, reading, and making Chili and Taco Soup nearly every night followed by cuddling in a chair with a fuzzy blanket and a baby.

(in the time it took me to write this post, jibs found my vanilla coke bath and body works gloss and shimmied the cap off and was having an afternoon toddy. oh nice. i'll be looking forward the the effects of that later.)
